Note the 500M Ohm resistor is only to test the current reference. Â It would be replaced by your application circuit.

Take a look at the voltage reference in the arty just before this. It uses the same SCM config as this and uses 500pAmp. MonteCarlo looks awesome on it too. Tight and no spurious startup modes. ( which I had on my other design )

But the author doesn't reference it on his paper.

In the world of engineering you should not look to others to validate you. They won’t. They might mouth words but will they write you a big check? Rarely.
More importantly does the current source work well if implemented correctly?
