Water was making the basement of the house damp and slowly degrading the foundation. I replaced the underground downspout water drainage system.  This is my photo record.

Initial dig near the corner where water would collect

Midsection of the east side.

High end of the system with the upright already pulled from the ground so no connection between downspout and drainage pipe shown.

Terra cotta pipe from the system near the sidewalk on its way to the storm sewer. Second photo shows the sidewalk leak when I tested the system using a garden hose.

All the pipes I pulled from the ground.

A little bit of science. Rotation of flow in the pipe as shown by this radial wave of dirt in the pipe.
