More Fruit than Papaya Tree

This is the tree outside my apartment in Brazil.

I guess papaya ( mamao ) must be slow to ripen.  With so few leaves the energy can enter the fruit only slowly.  Its an impressive array though.  I keep hoping for one fresh off of the tree someday.
