The Phyla of Television Shows – An Initial Stab

Below is a table of the less than creative.  I've used Judd for the Defense to fill in the pidgeon hole for Lawyer-Serious.  There are extra holes in the table for as I think of new phyla in this rather limited taxonomy. 

The point is of this exercise is as a demonstration of what a bunch of lemon heads we must be to keep watching this stuff over and over.  Manix was on in 1968 for shits sake.  The recipe is still selling! 

Then also its an educational thing to notice that the TV show Police-Doctor never really took off in the 70's.  Its two dramatic dynamics at cross odds with one another.  The brutal antagonism of the Police-Crook relationship and the cooperative care giving dynamic of the Doctor-Patient mythic relationship.  ( Obviously mythic as Doctors don't give a squat about their patients ! )   Therefore cross COLUMN with ROW but not ROW with ROW. 

This fits my theory that what we watch is in reality written by us the viewer.  Our expectations almost exclusively guide the writers hand as Hollywood is exclusively Darwinistic in its methods of choosing its plots.  The ones we do not watch die rapid deaths.   This is were you can see the dynamics of evolution play out in super high speed play.  If we ever are to have any hope of evolving ourselves into something better through the self modification that will happen through the genetic engineering we better try to first start thinking outside our boxes.  They're pathetic, small and very unentertaining.

Next I'll post a PERL script that can calculate Hollywood plot lines for the writers as an online tool.  You'll also be able to predict the endings of Hollywood movies before you even see them with this script.

The author will now go Murray Gell-Man on your ass and make some predictions / creations of new shows on the fly.  In the taxonomy there are some gaper sized holes in the chart.  Several genres are being overlooked and seem like they could be exploited to great profit.

1) Gangster / ParaNormal  — GOD-Fodder 

2) Lawyer / ParaNormal — Chud for the Defense

3) Coroner / Funny — Quimby – CSI ( Comic SetUp Investigator )

4) Doctor / Paranormal – Ghost Doctorer
